Playing For Our Club

Our players range from age 5 to 14.

Registration and Try Outs

All players need to be registered with the League and be covered by the Club's insurance before they can play for us. Therefore all players must complete our registration form before the start of each season.

Should any player wish to do training only then this is available on request.

However, players who are new to the club are welcome to come along to a couple of free training sessions to try out and see if they enjoy playing before they commit to registering. All we ask is that an insurance disclaimer is filled out prior to the first training session.

To enquire about potentially joining our club, please complete the form here

The trial period will require the player to wear shin pads, suitable clothing and footwear.

Training and Matches

A normal week consists of one training session and a match if scheduled (except for Under 6's who do not play competitive League matches).

The usual training time for each team can be seen on the Our Teams page. Managers keep in contact with parents/carers keeping them up to date on training session dates and times.

Most matches are played on a Sunday, but some teams such as our Lionesses have Saturday fixtures. The specific times of the matches are set by the League and details can be found on the League website, but match times can sometimes change, so the Team manager will always confirm in advance of the match.

Training Only Packages

For children who want to grow their confidence, this pathway helps to gently build skills and an understanding of the game with weekly training sessions and in-house games.

Our Fees

Although all of our Managers and Committee Members are volunteers and give their time for free, we do have to make a charge for playing for the club to pay for things like player kit, training equipment, pitch hire (we do not own our training pitches), league fees, insurance, ground keeping equipment, etc. We believe our fees are amongst the most competitive around for a FA Accredited club and represent great value for money. Details of our fees can be found in our Registration Pack.

Kit

Players must wear Hungerford Town Juniors  strip (football shirt, shorts, and socks) to all  official league and cup matches.  This kit is provided by the club and the cost is included in the registration fee. Additional accessories such as coats, water bottles, etc. can be purchased from the online club shop.

What to Bring

The wearing of shin pads is mandatory at both training and matches. Players must also wear football boots with moulded/plastic  studs or blades. Boots with metal studs are not permitted.

Players should bring a water or drink bottle and in winter months a warm, water-resistant coat is also needed. It also highly advisable to have a pair of training leggings or other leg coverings for use in extremely cold weather and for when matches are played on artificial turf (to prevent possible friction burns).

Should a player arrive for a match or training session without suitable equipment, clothing or refreshment then they may be prevented from taking part. The welfare and safety of ALL players is our highest priority.
