U11s win at the County Ground!

Last Sunday Hungerford Town U11s had the opportunity to play a match on the County Ground pitch – home of Swindon Town FC.
Chosen specifically by our opponents  Wroughton to participate, the two teams put on a fantastic show, a hugely entertaining match with more twists, turns and drama than the usual Swindon Town match.
Despite being two goals down early on, Hungerford rallied to level at 2-2, before going 4-2 down soon after. A third Hungerford goal reduced the deficit to one goal at half time.
The second half saw us score twice within the first ten minutes – the second of these was an incredible strike from inside our own half, and we found ourselves in front for the first time at 5-4. Some heroic goalkeeping and at times frantic defending saw us hold the lead til the final whistle – a fantastic result!
Well done to the players and thanks to Wroughton for inviting us!

Skippy honoured

Steve ‘Skippy’ Skipworth, who for many a year has voluntarily maintained the primary school pitches as well as the principle Hungerford Town  pitch, been a coach at HTJFC  and chairman of the committee, has been honoured Hungerford Town.

Skippy steps down at the end of the season and HTJFC cannot thank him enough for all his efforts.

HTJFC u10s vs HTJFC u10s!!

Sunday 26 March 2017

This Sunday saw Hungerford Town Juniors u10 Whites take on Hungerford Town u10 Blacks in the semi-final of the NWYFA trophy event.

The match was extremely competitive with some great goals and ended 2-2 at full time. With no goals scored during extra time, it was down to penalties!

On the third set of sudden death penalties,  the result was finally determined – the Whites were victorious and progress to the final

Well done to all involved, the manner in which the game was played was a credit to both sides.
